Hav Instrumenter Platform HIP - Ocean Instruments Platform

Picture
HIP core sensor suite comprises temperature probes, pressure gauge, current meters, magnetometer, methane and turbidity sensors among others
The intent of establishing the Hav Instrumenter Plattform (HIP) Facility at OceanLab is to provide an adequate pool of commonly used and essential sensors and digital imaging equipment for various large-scale experiments and programs in the ocean sciences. Part of the approach is to ensure easy access to certain types of oceanographic sensors and tools and that adequate technical support is available to maintain the equipment pool and mobilize/demobilize it when needed by scientists and provide operational expertise for use of the equipment.
HIP currently has a variety of instruments available for use including:
  • temperature probes recording exit-fluid temperature
  • magnetometer acquiring magnetic data
  • pressure gauge recording tidal bottom pressure changes
  • current meters recording ocean bottom currents
  • Methane, pH & redox, CO2 and turbidity sensors measuring chemicals and detecting particules
  • Deep sea HD cameras recording high-resolution videos

Any questions regarding HIP equipment should be sent to
